Getting rid of old CDs...
Discussion
Where do I do it? I'm reluctant to use certain internet companies and the one I have used previously and am very happy with, is closed temporarily because the owner died!
And there's no parking near my local secondhand CD place in Guildford, which is a right ballache given that I have probably in excess of 700 CDs to get rid of!
Help, please! Anyone know any reputable online companies or anything like that?

eBay.
WAY too much effort! I appreciate I'd make more money that way but selling 700-1000 individual items on ebay when I have limited internet access ain't gonna happen, sadly.CrabDan said:

I got rid of a load of CD's and DVD's recently using them, got a couple of hundred quid. No problems at all. I was careful to check for damage to the discs and cases, no doubt they'll have you over if you don't comply with their requirements. Just type in the barcode numbers, box up, print out freepost labels, job done. They won't take every CD but some surprises where you think you're going to get 30p and it's actually worth a few quid. Don't expect this to be the case with most popular music though. Would use again.I'm a kind of play it to death and move on kind of person so in a de-cluttering move a few years back I eBayed the lot. I'd seen the move to digital downloads and it was then or never. On average I got £2 + P&P. I kept costs down by online bulk buying padded envelopes and postage. Out of 400 CDs all but about 20 sold. To my surprise all the stuff which was a bit unusual I'd bought to experiment, sold. Of those unsold all were mainstream stuff.
I've not used the phone app but TurboLister et all will pretty much write the listing for you inc front artwork.
Being an analytical kind of guy who wanted to know if the process was worth it, I put all costs, income and time into a spreadsheet. Result was £12 earnt per hour, which isn't that good but better than driving them 30mins each way to the charity shop.

I used music magpie
ok some of the prices on discs were surprisingly low, but then again they put some high prices on some shockingly s
t ones too
It averaged out at £1 and a bit per disk which doesnt sound a lot, but i thought if i put each one on ebay, it takes time, listing fees, paypal fees, final value fees, sort out postage details, go and post them 1 by 1...
suddenly £1 a cd seemed ok
freepost
cheque came back, couple of small deductions for broken cases (which was accurate and fair)
no complaints.
