There is someone local to me selling one for 240 with Koby mesh skins, just wondering if this was a decent price seeing as the kit seems to be discontinued by Alesis.
Also is the replacement mesh skins a good idea on this kit? in my experience of samplers (MPC variants) if you replace the pads you open yourself up to a host of sensitivity problems.
Or if anyone can reccomend a decent sub 300 (maybe 400 at a push) kit for someone who is getting back to drumming after a 12 year break.

One thing against the Alesis is reliability, apparently - I've just bought a new electronic kit (Yamaha) and was advised by my supplier that Alesis are cheap for a reason - they have a very high percentage of returns in comparison to Yamaha and Roland (for example).
I know plenty of people that use the modules on a stand alone basis (bass drum triggering etc) but I was steered away from them when it came to purchase as my kit is used at gigs and I cannot afford for it to break down mid-gig.
