Pop videos - what is going on...?

i'm prepared to be shot down in flames here - bloke finds bikini clad woman on oppo video offensive shock but here goes.

So I'm in the gym last night rocking away to maiden or megadeth on my mp3 and the niki minaj (sp?) video come on.

now I'm as red blooded as the next man but

A. Is this really what the pop industry thinks men want to see or find attractive? OR

B. is this an image for women to aspire to?

mahoosive breasts, tight bikini, foul mouthed, botox lips...its so baseless and imho pointless that at 5pm on a freeview channel i'm not sure it should be aired.

I'm not pro-censorship but it was not "family entertainment".

I know some pop vids are racy and some hip-hop vids are often accompanied by dancing girls etc but they have their time and place late night mtv whatever...

I don't want to come across as sanctimonious and my genre of music (rock / heavy metal)has its fair share of shall we say interseting portrayal of women / girls but this was a solo girls' video of her own track and she was the main performer in it...

was I right to be shocked?
