Slash with Myles Kennedy - Live in Stoke

Just picked this up today on Blu-ray and am pleasantly surprised. Great selection of songs, both Slash solo and his bands (G'n'R & Velvet Revolver). The band is very tight and Myles Kennedy, who I have never heard of, has a fantastic voice that lends itself well to all the songs.

However, my biggest criticism has to be possibly one of the worst crowds I've seen at a concert, in fact I think they annoy me so much that it detracts from the enjoyment of watching it. They just aren't very 'rock and roll'. Half the crowd are filming on mobile phones, a few tragic cases up the front who are more nerdy than metal, and the rest of the crowd look like middle-aged car forum members. It just all seems very bizarre compared to the heady days of the 80's, or even any other metal concert I've seen or been to. Watching Iron Maiden's En Vivo or the Big 4 Metallica concert prior to this has just reinforced that view completely.

I've got the DVD version, and agree that Myles voice suits the music well (he's the lead singer of the band Alter Bridge, who are worth a listen).

The version of "Patience" is IMO better than the album version.

new album out in may with Myles doing ALL the vocals, it will be good, the single, You're A Lie is crackin!

And I see that because the idiot Axl Rose threw a tantrum and didn't want to be inducted into the R'n'R Hall of Fame, Myles went on stage at the ceremony with Slash, Duff, etc and took his place. Did a good job too (and turned up on time!).
