On the subject of out of tune instruments...

This has always driven me mad. How on earth did they get as far as recording & then say to themselves, yeah, that's all done & dusted?

Woah!!! Shocking. And I thought JB was an absolute stickler for catching musicians out for mistakes and such.

Suspect someone got an earful afterwards - although I'm stunned he didn't stop and re-tune at the outset.

I heard that one live on radio 2 and was amazed that he didn't retune after hitting that detuned string for the first time. After getting the lifetime achievement award it seemed awful to play an entire song out of tune.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vclHNrxQhTc

This sounded worse in years gone by, when I first heard it Al Di Meola's guitar sounded outrageously out of tune. Now it only strikes me as a bit flat, maybe just one string. You can tell he is feeling it though as he fluffs parts of the song he must have played over.
Mind you, there are still some bits where that flat guitar rears it's head and sounds f
king cack.
