Currently listening to Rupert Holmes Partners in Crime album which contains Escape - The Pina Colada Song and Him, both of which will most certainly ring a bell if you heard them ( must be on YouTube ).

First (alphabetically) is Allo, Darlin’ whose Henry Rollins Don't Dance is a gorgeous piece of jangly candy pop with witty lyrics and a cute singer.

It looks like at least 20% isn't recognised by iTunes Match! No doubt plenty can beat that?!

Looking through, nothing looks *that* obscure. Would you say Bill Nelson, John Miles, Georgia Satellites, Westworld, Ben Granfelt, Devo, Atomic Rooster, Heart, Robin Trower, Home, Insane Clown Posse were obscure - (possibly in comparison the The Beatles, Wishbone Ash, Deep Purple and Jethro Tull.....)?

Roy Budd pretty obscure? He did the 'Get Carter' theme, amongst other familiar tunes.

Just had a quick look at my itunes and setting aside single song artists I'd go for Shibusashirazu Orchestra, a Japanese Free Jazz outfit.

Saw them several times at Glastonbury 2002, thought they were bonkers, loved them and bought their album. I was somewhere in this audience http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4jrFCIJYac, although they were better on the Pyramid Stage where the scary bald naked man painted himself blue and climbed up to the top of the stage rigging.

I've just thought of another. I was talked into buying one of his records when on a dig in Aberdeen and have searched for his other vinyl ever since. More rude I suppose than obscure but amusing on a boring day.

Not for me he's not ! - I have his soundtrack to Who Dares Wins on my iPod. One of my favourite films and soundtrack.
Very very hard to get on mp3 as the album was only released on vinyl and cassette in 1981. Thanks for the heads up on Buddism.

First heard her sing on Royksopp's "What Else is There", (still in my top 10). have 'Fever Ray' her solo album, 'The Knife', and 'Silent Shout' by The Knife. Not got Deep Cuts yet. Worth it?
