I love what I call "euphoric" rock... You know the type: where it's quiet for a bit, then lifts really high with a chorus and then goes quiet again, etc...

Fear factory - Resurrection. It goes really well with Timelessness from the same album too.

I think Stabbing Westward fit the bill too. All of their albums are epic but very melancholy.
