Beginner guitar songs

As in the title really,

I've been playing for about 6 weeks on both electric and acoustic guitars and I'm starting to get fairly proficient at chord changes and some basic strumming patterns. Still trying to nail pentatonic? scales. I can comfortably do A, D, E, C, G, Em, Am, Cm chords and can hit an F chord on the electric, but not the acoustic with a bit of shuffling to get the barre sat properly.

I'm looking for some songs to enjoy playing really. I can do common people by pulp, knockin on heavens door, the opening riff from echo beach, wild thing and I'm trying to get the strumming sorted for twist and shout.

Any suggestions welcome - most of the stuff I want to play seems to involve barre chords, which I'm still struggling with.

Off the top of my head:

U2 - One
REM - Man on The Moon (there's a Bm in there somewhere but if you can do a Cm you shouldn't have a problem!)
OCS - Day We Caught The Train
Radiohead - Street Spirit (perhaps a little more difficult but probably a good thing to try to step up towards)
And... Most 'jangly' indie stuff from the 90s is based on open cords so just google things you like along those lines!


Oh - and master those barre chords - its just practice and finger training, but give it another month or so and the world will be yours (in terms of chords, anyway!)

I started from scratch and learned by playing "tab" rather than 'proper' music. Managed passable versions of parissienne walkways and smoke on the water in about an hour!!

Instead of doing a full barre for the F, just use your first finger over the E and B string. It's easier to change to that from a C too
