Don't have to be held in high regard by the critics but everyone has a couple of albums that came along at a particular time and blew them away.......what were yours?

Fugazi - In On The Killtaker

Two albums that came along for me in the early 90's and released the stranglehold hair metal seemed to have on me

Apollo 440's Millennium Fever taught me that rock and electronic could intersect without being a novelty.

My musical world was turned completely upside down by the original Grindcrusher compilation.

The Orb's Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld persuaded me that there might be something to this ambient malarkey.

Absolute cliché, but I remember the day very well the first time I heard The Wall.

Although this was admittedly years after its release.

I think it was bold and went mainstream enough to change that type of music anyway. Maybe.

The first Portishead album was astonishing when it came out, still sounds incredible today.

Master of Puppets and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son properly got me into metal. In terms of sitting up and taking notice after that, the two that stand out are Darkthrone's A Blaze in the Northern Sky and Disembowelment's Transcend Into the Peripheral. Still consider the former the best Black Metal album ever.
