I like a lot of REM stuff and am now regretting the decision not to go to their last tour - but I can't say I am that bothered TBH.

Sad news. They've ended it on their own terms though, and not because they had a massive fight and all told each other to jog on .

It's not as if they need the money, and they do other stuff anyway so the three of them will still be around in some form.

It was sad news to hear. Not so much because they are breaking up, we all move on, more a case of remembering the people and parties and the past, my past... In which I really enjoyed their music as did others.

AFTP is a superb record...not a massive fan but I can listen to that from start to finish. not a duff track on it.

Sad news

I was driving in this morning and usually in the car I listen to podacsts and I just thought, you know wehat, I feel like some REm - cranked right up and was merrily singing along (with the windows up I promise) and then a colleague told. I am gutted.

Seen them several times live, followed them since about 87 - just before Green came out which is still my favourite album.

The OH is being really patronising about it too.

At least they ended on it on a decent note! Last album was very good (while I'm not a massive fan, Dad is) and they all seemed happy to bow out at this time. Think that's the most anyone can ask for from their band. Hope they have success and happiness in whatever they do next
