Was having a bit of a sort-out and out of curiosity, thought I'd see what I'd get for a pile of old CD albums which I just don't play any more.

Minimum quantity to trade is 10; I wasn't expecting to get a lot for them, but £0.30 per album??

It was just out of curiosity to begin with. But I'm quite sure I'd get more than a quid each via Amazon sellers or ebay.

Probably ship them out through Replay stores I reckon. Their stuff (hence the name) is almost all pre-listened. I bought some cheapo Ministry of Sound thing for £3.99 but one of the discs was so scratched it wouldn't play... still for £4, what do you expect!

I like the way Music Magpie say that if any of the CD's you send them are not suitable (scratches, broken cases etc) then they will recycle them for you. In other words they don't pay you, but you don't get them back.

I didn't touch them after reading that. Ripoff.

£4 for a second hand CD and I'd expect it to work.

They sell on Play and Amazon as Zoverstocks and someone has said they have an automatic script to beat the lowest price by a penny. A common trick used by some to get stuff from zoverstocks cheaper is to list the item that they want to buy at a dirt cheap price, wait for zoverstocks software to cut their price, cancel their own listing and buy the reduced price item from zoverstocks.

I've heard of accounts being blocked because of then practice. Seems like a lot of hassle to save what would usually be a couple of quid.

I'm pretty sure that I got a cheap Rhod Gilbert DVD the other day as someone else was trying to pull this trick. A brand new seller with only 2 Rhod Gilbert DVDs for sale far cheaper than anyone bar zoverstocks.

I've used them a few times. Don't expect fortunes but some CDs have been worth 3 quid or so and they even gave me something for some old PS2 games I found in a box from when I moved 5 years ago (PS2 long gone). For a mass clear out, they're easy to use. CEX (webuy.com) often give a bit more in price but they charge you for postage - MM don't. Never had a problem with them.
