Going through my old Spotify playlists which replaced a number of years of Soundcloud/Sonos ones. I'm a fan of unknown/unsigned work which I've often found through things like BBC6 Music uploader / Tom Robinson. It's interesting to see what's happened to artists I stumbled into 10-15 years ago. Many disappear without trace, others go on to become huge. The monthly listens ranged from 1 (must be me) to several million (they weren't that when I found them):

I'd love to go and track down some of these artists and find out what happened to them and convey how much I appreciate their moment in time. It must be incredible to have some random stranger often generations older than you connect with your work, even if nothing became of it much beyond that. Maybe I'll get my daughter to accompany me on the trip when she finishes her Media Studies degree and capture the project on suitable media.

Yes…Close To The Edge. Having seen the current line up on Tuesday night in York it’s good to dig this out again.

Ritchie Kotzen - Venom

Completely passed me by, shuffled in by spotify.
Raw, very much in the vein of Chris Cornell

Motorcycle Emptiness.

It just popped into my head today. I used to absolutely love this. I had a great live recording off Radio 1 back in the day on a C90 cassette. I did a bit of a a search on the old tube and found this.

The Manics at their best. Enjoy.
