Sinatra's, "My way' butchered by the Sex Pistols.
The Beatles "Dear Prudence" butchered by Siouxie and the Banshees.
And one that just grates on the ears.
Rolling Stones "Satisfaction" thoroughly butchered by Devo.

The first two at least, I much prefer the covers to the originals .
Each to their own I suppose biggrin

Florence + The Machine doing ‘You Got The Love’

The Candi Staton original is an absolutely classic vocal which is sung with soul, subtlety and feeling - Florence just goes ahead and shouts all over it.
That's her "style"...horrible singer

It’s been done hundreds of times but any tune/song that is essentially a cover of Pachelbel Canon in D major ,that Maroon 5 one boils my piss…
What maroon 5 song would that be? I am struggling to think of any songs that are cover versions of a 300 year old classical violin piece to be fair
"All Together Now" by The Farm is heavily influenced by/practically a cover of Canon in D Major, it's probably a good thing the original is out of copyright.

Both been mentioned, but worth another....

Scissor Sisters murdering Comfortably Numb

Rolf Harris slaughtering Stairway to Heaven

However, also mentioned was Mariah Carey's version of Without You, which I happen to think is epic... tongue out

Tin Tin Out need to face charges for crimes against music for trashing The Sunday's Here's Where the Story Ends, and what is worse is that they had a hit with it so loads of people think it is the original.
Very good call - that was inexcusable.

I'll add Johnny Cash's excreable cover of Hurt. None of the pain of the original, just a sub-Shattner butchering.

No idea, but if it's a sex pistols album, it's a sex pistols song no matter who's 'singing' it.
