Foo fighters on Saturday night, cannot wait!
Sure you’ll enjoy… they were cracking in Glasgow on Monday…

L Gallagher in Glasgow tonight, great performance and a very good band now. However the cheer when Scotland scored during the View playing support just about took the roof off the place.
Off to Dublin tomorrow for the third show of the week on our wee R&R tour… Pearl Jam, hopefully in the sun.

Nile Rodgers and Chic at Sherwood Pines this Friday.

Had seen it listed a few months back but decided not to risk it; I knew it would be a very busy few weeks at work and could be a pain to finish in time. Plus wasn't keen on hoping the weather held out.

Anyway, I've been convinced to go now. Looking forward to it, second gig in two weeks (PSB before) after nothing since November 2023 which was my only gig last year.

Be interesting the crowd numbers at pearl jam.

There getting real flack online after slashing the price of tickets last minute.

Yes, that’s for London at the Tottenham stadium, people just wern’t buying at high prices seats hanging like a bat from the stands. Also Greenday at Wembley already announced was bad timing. Dublin is sold out, but a few tickets floating around.

I've seen them a few times and they have always been brilliant, but didn't bother this time due to silly high ticket prices.

With Foo Fighters and Green Day touring the UK at the same time you have your pick of American rock - I got tickets for both of them instead.

Plus Pearl Jam never bother their arse coming to Scotland, which irks.

Ticketmaster sells the tickets, not Pearljam. And they're hardly the best of friends.

Suddenly got some gigs to look forward to over the next couple of weeks.

The Killers at the Co-Op Live in Manchester tomorrow night
Liam Gallagher same venue next week
Kasabian in Leicester first week in July
I’m at Co-op Live on Friday night for The Killers with my adult children, compo for not getting Glastonbury…
Let us know how they were, can you? Am off to see them on 7th July at the O2 Arena.
I've seen the Killers a few times now and last nights performance was the best of the lot. A totally different set list to the night before so a nice surprise having checked the previous set lists out. They really were fantastic. Anyone going for the rest of the tour is in for a treat. Also, the new arena at Manchester is brilliant. They've made a big capacity arena seem small.

Travis were also fantastic as a the support act. Easy to forget how bloody good they were in the 90s! I'd have paid to watch them alone to be honest.

Surprised my wife with tickets to see Elbow in Nottingham.
She knew to take a couple of days off but didn’t know where we were going. Had some time between hotel and gig, booked a table at Cosy Club which I’d highly recommend: tremendous decor and excellent food.

“Let’s just take a walk through Hockley see if there’s a nice pub”
“Where are all these middle aged couples going”
“Look they’re going in there, shall we see”
“Looks like we need tickets”
“Like this?”

Arrived about 1/3 of the way into The Waeve’s set. I’d purposely not looked who the support were so very pleasantly surprised. Great set.

Elbow took the stage at 9 and were absolutely brilliant.
Two hours of great songs.
Brilliant gig.
Just catching up in this thread.
Saw Elbow with Waeve as support at the O2 on 9th May.
I hate the O2 with a passion, hard to get to even from Kent, expensive parking, extortionate food & drink. Miles from the stage.
Waeve were bloody dreadful, that screeching bint did my head in.
Elbow, too far away to see, a lot of new stuff which was mediocre. Eventually played earlier stuff which was good. Mrs is not into them, the tickets were for me as I am a fan. She was astonished that I hadn't enjoyed it. It is deffo my last concert at the O2. Heart are there in July, that I'll give a miss to.
Saw Gary Mullen & the Works the other week at a small venue (Chatham Central Theatre) he was good doing a Freddie Mercury impersonation. The Works Lead guitar was great.

I've only been to the O2 once and found getting there and back hard work from Surrey, so I'll never go there again either.

Mind you the London Stadium was even worse in 2018. banghead

I was there because I follow Bextor and saw she was playing. Really glad I got to see Nile/Chic as well, they sounded great. Nile came across as a bit up himself though, when talking between songs.

I'd forgot this aspect of Nile, not sure if it is a recent thing. An incredible CV overall, but yes; I'd commented to my wife about his modesty.

Top show, although I was a bit disappointed that my favourite Chic tracks (I Want Your Love etc) featured so early on. Personally I'd have preferred a few songs in 'extended' form, but with Nile's hits you can understand wanting to get many played. Glad the sound improved over SEB, not sure if it was the mix or the weather/wind.

I’d concur on all the above.

Great set, opening with Mr Brightside was a genius move to get some energy in right from the start.

Travis were also great as a support act, with good interaction with the crowd to get things going.

Yet others travel there from all over the country seemingly with no problems.

he is a chatty chap!

I've seen them a few times over the last 10 years at festivals and a couple of times on their own; very polished act and the female singers are excellent. incredible back catalogue to delve into

getting there is ok; its the leaving. 15,000 all hitting the tube at once takes ages to clear. Not really viable to drive as limited & expensive parking in a tricky to drive to part of London. It's also a pretty st space for live music unless you get the really expensive seats or in standing and get close to the front.

a lot of people I know book a hotel nearby as its easier than running the risk of late night train issues that seem to be getting worse

Along with 80,000 or more (?) others on Saturday, I enjoyed the Foos at the London Stadium for 3 hours.

Getting to Stratford station after is a ball ache though. I’ll avoid gigs there in the future.
45 minutes from the stadium to the rail platform to get to Liverpool St.
.
