Yeah. When Coldplay first appeared 20+ odd years ago, I thought they were going to be another Radiohead type band. Early success, plenty of plaudits, etc But they've never really moved on; nothing edgy, or experimental. Whenever you watch them you just wish they'd rock out and let go. They can't/ won't.
It's successful, and popular, but bland, middle of road stuff.....

It's quite ironic, that most of the most successful/ popular current acts are all pretty bland.....nothing edgy, all quite safe.

Yes they were part of that post britpop wave of more subdued/depressing type indie - but you can't say they haven't moved on. Their second and third albums were quite stodgy and they did have to do something to move away from the indie balladry... But instead of going experimental they have been successful at reinventing themselves as a proper pop group and stadium band, a bit like a more cheerful U2 I suppose, but in doing so they have remained relevant and extremely popular.

What about the carbon footprint of production and supply?
When you see the amount of old tents and rubbish that is going to get left when everyone goes home, do you really think the people who go care about sustainability?

I know they will justify it to themselves that they believe their £20 Argos tent that is now ruined and covered in beer and piss will be collected and donated to the homeless, but the whole lot will end up in landfill.
Slight generalisation

I've been 13 times, this year is the first time I've missed one since 2009. I cannot remember, ever, throwing litter on the ground. There's no point, bins are everywhere. Fag butts can go between cups until you find a bin etc. all my little gang are the same. Tents always have gone home, when we leave the camping spot is spotless, just a little dead grass

I despair when I see people chugging a can that they just throw on the floor. It really irks me, though I've never told anyone this to their face when they've done it. So yes, those people are tossers. But it doesn't mean that everyone is.

So much generalised bullst is written about Glastonbury. It wouldn't surprise me if that signifies someone who has never been, possibly to any festival

She's someone I was rather reluctantly taken to see and who turned out to be brilliant.
She’s playing Tramlines in Sheffield in a few weeks. Were taking our 6yr old to see her and I’m not sure who’s going to enjoy it more, him, me, or his mum laugh

Been to a few more than you, I often had a go at people pissing on the ground when there are loads of toilets around, the council has threatened to close the festival due to the pee pollution (and drug content in it!)

Yes, superb. Norman's still got it and I feel for anyone in Jackie Abbot's spot but the young Dolly did very well.
I agree, thought they were brilliant

she had some op on her vocal chords since suffering from chronic lyme - but i'm sure she's sang since then , perhaps she's worn it out singing to the other acts?

I saw Coldplay at Wembley a few years ago - I think they played 2 or 3 nights

They gave us all a plastic wristband which only had a single use - absolute obscene waste of plastic IMO.

Hopefully these new ones have some other functions. I suspect the majority will end up in the Glastonbury landfill.
