Muse - Feeling Good

[Yes, I searched the whole thread and found it was posted before, but only as a link with no title, and I think it deserves more than that!]
It's an interesting version but better than the original? Not a chance in hell.

Without wanting to get into heated discussion, I think it's better then the Cy Grant version. OTOH I'm a bit of a Traffic fan and I hadn't heard their version until this discussion came up. I love it, but it's err, very Traffic.

I won't be popular with Bryan Adams fans, but prompted by a posting on another thread:-

Heaven

I think this does the lyrics much more justice.

I was really looking forward to that. I love metal and I love that song, so I was primed. But that was not even close - truly dreary with none of the drama of the original!

You need your ears recalibrating. smile

I think this 1960 something version of Dear Prudence is pretty hard to go past

This version of 'Creep' may not beat the Radiohead version, but it's a close run thing, and it's bloody funny:

This just occurred to me. Danzig's version of "The Hunter".

Better than the Albert King original, and a damn sight better than the Led Zeppelin one:

Just stumbled across Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga covering "The Lady is a Tramp". So... I'm not particularly a fan of Mr Bennett, Miss Gaga or big band. But this version really works and you have to be blown away by her raw talent. Take away all the gimmickery and theatricals and she's an astonishing singer.

Becs just reminded me we haven't had this yet - Limp Bizkit's version of "Behind Blue Eyes" (The Who) - IMHO a difficult one to improve on, but I think they just edge the original.

Completely ruins it in my opinion. Gets rid of the best bit!
+1 Was never going to work!

Good shout.

I will add one of my own. Although I like Elvis's version of Always on My Mind I think The Pet Shop Boys version is much better.

One from the 60s covering one from the 50s. This has been my van stereo song of the day, maybe it was the weather:

Blue Cheer - Summertime Blues

Just such a great sludgy sound, way ahead of their time.
Great stuff, thanks for that. Never heard of them before, but they have some great covers.

That slow/piano version of the track is as good as his cover of The Boys of Summer is bad.

That is astonishingly great. I wouldn't have believed you could improve on the the Stones version until I heard that. The drummer needs to cut down on the steroids tho smile

This is pretty awesome, suits the song really well. Been moved enough to check out their album, thanks for that.

Someone mentioned the song I was going to suggest, Delilah by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band - but no link, so here's one:-
