Also “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”.

I just don’t “get” Springsteen.

Me neither. Murders pretty much everything he 'sings' (= shouts).

Sprinsteen covered "Do I Love You" !!!!!!! Russ Winstanley let me hold the original 45 that he brought back from Detroit as he pointed out the tiny crack on the intro grooves. I had absolutely no idea (it is dire though)

back on track (SWIDT ?) - comme d'habitude has been mentioned. Bowie said that Life on Mars was his revenge "cover" following his translation being rejected but there is a very unoffical recording of him performing My Way as we know it. It's pretty bad.

Radio Heads original version of Creep was ruined by......... Radio Head.

Almost everyone else that has covered it made it a lot better esp Prince and that bloke off AGT. Also Post modern Jukebox's version.
Or Mared Williams' version

Not a judgement I have ever understood personally. Has anyone actually listened to creep and thought oh that sounds like….. not convinced. How they ever won is beyond me

Well, there's the fact it uses the exact same chord progression for starters...

As its nearly Christmas I suggest Carly Rae Jepson's cover of Wham's Last Christmas. It is almost so bad its good.

Guess so but 100% originality is going to be pretty tough after 100 years or so of recorded music I guess

Being a pedant though I’m not sure copying chord progressions make it a cover version. Was an interesting case though and there have been many more similar

Why didn’t you understand it? Radiohead admitted they used it…

Fair enough I must have missed that confession. Does that make creep a cover version though?

They settled out of court in the end, no better homage than that. Besides. the Hollies song is a cover anyway. It was written by Albert Hammond.
