I've not seen my favourite soup in any restaurants sadly - Pear and Watercress. It tastes better than it sounds! http://www.bbc.co.uk/tv/features/growyourowndrugs/... (recipe halfway down the page)

I've never yet tasted a tomato soup that's as good as Heinz, so I've given up trying. I've got a thing for sweet soups, so I've picked the Carrot & Coriander from the poll, but I'd prefer something like parsnip, sweet potato, butternut etc.

And smooth, soup has to be smooth unless it's minestrone grumpy

Lentil & smoked bacon, tuscan bean soup with pancetta, or good old pea & ham soup.

If none of those are available, I'm partial to minestrone too smile

I love broccoli and blue cheese with tiny deep fried blue cheese croutons. Or L&P but done as a two part soup.

Has anyone else had the pleasure of tasting 'bird tongue soup'? Could not bring myself to try it whilst on hoiday in Egypt, however I really liked the 'prawn soup' I had in Finland. My favourite though is Tomato and basil.
