if it makes a break for freedom when you open the fridge, throw it in the bin.

otherwise, its the smell.

My late Mam used say you should not sniff cheese or fish. In my experience it lasts quite a while, try cutting the size portion you'll consume at a sitting rather than taking it all out from the fridge.

You can also freeze it if there's too much to eat in a week or two.

If it starts to smell 'fishy', bin it.

Otherwise, it's good to go.
