So,answering my own query - took a gamble on Krishna, opposite the railway station in Whitstable. Absolutely great meal, good service and reasonable too, highly recommended.

Only just saw this, but yes good in there. Make sure you dont go any where near the Thai Shangri la its a shocker.

Only just seen this.

I live about 300yards away from Krishna. Its run by the same people who own the newsagent. Nice family. Really interesting curries considering the setting.

Can't agree about Shangri-La, its not cutting edge Thai food but I've always found a nice welcome, and their duck curry is food of the goods.

I must admit I was taken aback by the exterior, but it was a great meal - I had fish tikka, and the share of a table full of sides, all were perfectly spiced and nicely cooked and presented
