Christmas Hampers
Discussion
Might sound 'cheap', but my girlfriends previous place just went to a supermarket and spent the same amount per person but got close to double the stuff. They then just took a box home full of stuff.
They were chuffed, and were not bothered by the lack of hampers!

My old man does the same as none of the staff here go to the staff do.
He spends about £20-£25 per head on them, goes to sainsburys & gets one of those posh sack type shopping bag things & fills it with stuff, bottle of spirits, wine, some beers / ciders, chocolates, christmas, treats etc etc.
Everyone much prefers it.

Thanks for that. Just found out how much the one I got sent was http://www.johnlewis.com/Gifts/Hampers/Food+Gift+S...

For £40 a head you could do nice champagne (lots of offers on) in a gift bag with very posh truffles.
Who wouldn't want to receive something like that?

hampers have to be one of the worst gifts going , chances are the staff will have done all thier xmas shopping before hand , and wont have much use for doubles or a posh box full of random stuff theyd never buy
i think a fistfull of sainsburys vouchers would be a nicer choice
Good point. i think a fistfull of sainsburys vouchers would be a nicer choice
At my last company everyone (some 200 employees) got M&S vouchers for Christmas.
These are (or at least were) discounted depending on the volume you buy.
^^^^ That's a tad impersonal though.
ETA: Not sure how these fare with above mentioned but, Makro have hampers too.
