OK so my lot want a massive curry for their Xmas "do" on Brick Lane.

I'd like to get one with a private room for about 15 people, so we can just eat spicy gravy and neck Cobras with just us there.

Anyone know of a place??

Ta, chaps.

Tayyabs is very good, 5 min walk from Brick Lane. They have private rooms there.

-1 for Tayyabs. Hugely overrated.

It's not licensed, which is good when you're prepared, none of the newsagents nearby sell alcohol either!

I much prefer Lahore Kebab house over Tayyabs but I'm not sure if they have a private room. Worth checking though as the food is top notch.

Lots of the Brick Lane ones have private rooms, but they are all st. Lahore Kebab House or Tayyabs.

IMO the best curry house in the area is the snappily named Halal Restaurant on the corner of Ailie Street and St Marks Street (Aldgate). Knocks the Lahores (still 3 of them?) into a cocked hat.

Not the prettiest, but by far the best curry (especially the 'melt in the mouth' mutton curry) I have ever had. Anywhere. Been a patron since the 80s and my father before me since the 50s. They have a room on the ground floor that will accomodate and a private function room upstairs that will also. Gets busy at lunchtime.

I arrange my business appointments in London around being able to dine there when in town. *Meeting a couple of PHers there next Friday to educate them smile

ETA: * Soovy, meeting M3John/Blue Thunder on Friday lunchtime, come join us and try it out? If you don't like it I will pay for yours smile

Soov, if your 'lot' can behave themselves and not act like a load of football plebs on a night out have a look at the The Gaylord in Fitzrovia.
