How to celebrate in style :)
Discussion
Yesterday I got a major promotion at work with a nice pay increase. Now, as I'm not really much of drinker I thought to myself "how can I celebrate"...
The answer... BIG STEAKS!
So, I just got back from the farm shop where I bought these...
Fillet steak (450g = 1lb!)

Two ribeye steaks (630g each = 1.4lbs each!)

Spent quite a lot considering all I bought was meat, but what the hell!
I'm planning to do the fillet steak tonight in an epic 'surf n turf' meal... rare fillet steak, accompanied by scallops, bacon, black pudding and a pea puree. I will post up pics (assuming I still have the power of movement after eating it!)

Well that was superb!! Feeling kinda full right now, but a big smile on my face. Cooked the steak to perfection (nice & rare) and everything else came out just right too. Made a lemon butter sauce with some parsley to go with the nice big scallops I'd bought. Plate was a bit crowded! Here's the piccies...

Bacon was crisp and light, black pud was crisp on the outside, soft in the middle, the pea puree was full of flavour, scallops were perfectly cooked (30secs per side) and the fillet was just melt-in-the-mouth gorgeous. Absolultely stuffed now though. If I'd done four scallop arrangements instead of three, I wouldn't have been able to finish!
