Pod Type Coffee Machines

Having just read the Nespresso thread, I just wondered how many people use the pod machines, and which one is deemed to be the best out there.

I have a Senseo machine, which I really like, but the range of coffees available in the UK is very limited, my local Tesco has about 4 different strengths and pod sizes (there are mug and cup sizes). When I was last in Carrefour in Calais I picked up a pack of hot chocolate pods, and a coffee variety pack, none of which seem to be available in the shops (but are on Amazon of all places!)

Looking at the Dolce Gusto and Tassimo machines, there seems to be a lot more variety in the pods that you can buy, so I am tempted, but they are quite expensive (the machines and the pods.

So if you use a pod machine, which one is it, and what is so great about it?

Nespresso Citiz with Milk (for the Mrs).

I use it because of its simplicity and good tasting coffee.

Sure there are better machines out there with bean to cup this and steamers that, but for effort put in and the coffee you get delivered it is a very good middle ground.

I've also got a Senseo machine and buy my pods online at http://www.thecoffeepod.co.uk/contents/en-uk/d7.ht... where I usually just get the variety packs. Just make sure you order the 62mm ones and not the 44mm or they won't fit!

I like my senseo machine, it's only used for the first coffee of the morning coffee and as I don't drink milk it's very straightforward and perfectly drinkable.

I usually stock up on pods in France as there is a better range at better prices.

My local Asda (I know, I know ) has switched to mug sized pods only and as I can't find the two cup thingie for the senseo then I'm in trouble. I'm going to see if I can pick up a cheap machine with it's thingies at the car boot sale tomorrow otherwise I'll order some normal pods online - thanks for the link.

I'd like a nespresso machine but I can't really justify the investment and I can't really be bothered with ordering pods online.

You can get all of the different pod thingys on Amazon, that is where I got the choco one from.

I had use of a Nespresso machine last year and was very impressed with it. The range of coffees available is very good and it does make very consistent coffee.
We would (will) get one when our Gaggia bean to cup machine finally bites the dust. Although the cost per cup is expensive compared to the bean to cup machines.

Put your money towards a proper espresso machine, preferably with bean grinder
