My friend very kindly gave me a trout that he had caught fishing. However, I'm not really sure the best way to cook it.
Were having a BBQ at the weekend and was thinking of putting it on there, or is that wrong? Usually put them in oven wrapped in tin foil. Any advice appreciated as im no Gordon Ramsey.

BBQ works well, just be careful that it doesn't fall apart when you turn it over.

One of these might come in handy.

BBQ:

put some rock salt and your choice of herb inside the fish. a few minutes on either side until the skin peels off, then fork the flesh off the bones.

lovely, done it twice this year already. Rainbow trout about £2 each from the deli counter

Slices of orange, lemon and season the cavity. Place on some foil add a few pieces of butter and a splash of white wine. Make a loose parcel around the fish and place in the oven or on the BBQ for around 20mins. Open and enjoy - the wine and the butter would have made a nice sauce also!!

Parcel in the oven with a a bit of wine, butter, and herbs is excellent.

But in truth you should have eaten it yesterday.

Put it on the BBQ last night as recommended and it tasted great. Will be asking for more off him
in future.
