Root Beer

Picked up a bottle of this from the supermarket yesterday. Just on a whim, wondered what it would taste like.

The bottle label said 'mixed fruit soft drink' and I was expecting something similar to Dr. Pepper. Poured a glass this evening and....

what the fk is that st supposed to be? Absolutely foul, gut-churning nastiness! The rest of the bottle went straight down the drain, where I suspect it will do more good than the Mr Muscle I put down a few days ago...

I love it. You can also get 'Sarsi' in SE Asia which seems to be the same stuff. I love the look on people's faces when they try it for the first time, although it pains me to see them pour it down the sink afterwards. I still have a couple of cans of A&W at home waiting for a nice hot day

Rootbeer is the drink of kings you heathens.

Waitrose do an excellent rootbeer in packs of 6 individual bottles by A&W which is lovely - about £3/pack

Sainsbury's sell big (2 litre) bottles of Carter's Rootbeer which is OK when very cold if a little too fizzy. Good for quenching a deparate rootbeer fix at 89p/bottle though!!

my first and last can was after a long flight to LA , thens hours messing around getting to the hotel and i was gasping , off to the coke machine and the bugger was sold out of everything except rootbeer , so grabbed a can and glugged some down...OMG spit
