Making your own sausages

Do anyone do this? I fancy giving a try as the shop ones are too variable. The first step seems to be getting some kind of device to mince the meat and stuff the sausages, I don't have any kind of food processor at all, so any suggestions what to use?

you can buy a manual grinder for about £25. I have one, but will be getting an electric one soon
