As the title really folks, some assistance would be appreciated...

I'm heading to Gordon Ramsay's at Claridges for Lunch on Saturday and wondered how best to dress? I've no problem wearing a suit and tie if needs be but it is Saturday and lunchtime at that so I'm assuming that a suit might be over the top?

The website for Claridges stipulates smart and no trainers/sportswear whereas Gordon Ramsay at Royal Hospital Road states smart and jacket preferred and Petrus states smart jeans accepted. I'm wondering whether chinos, shoes and an open collar shirt is the best way to go?

I'm a traditionalist really but I will be around town for the rest of the day and would like to be comfortable both around town and fitting in at the restaurant.

Chinos, nice shoes and an open-collar shirt will be fine. Add a blazer though.

You'll be fine with that.

I normally (I've only been twice) wear a casual style suit without a tie. I also wore that for his NY place which stated jackets for gentlemen. Suit and a tie is over the top for any restaurant meal out (except maybe a wedding or something really formal).

I went to their bar last week in smart casual (short sleeve shirt and coloured jeans) no issues. Service was something else though, best I have experienced. I imagine that the restaurant will be even better. thumbup
