Think the last time i was in the White Heart (Blythburgh) about 2/3 weeks ago i paid about £3.25/3.30 so i guess if you move into the town (either southwold or walberswick) it will get a bit more expensive..
I own a rural pub and 2 city centre bars.
Country pub, draught lager is up 10p per pint (making Carling £2.85, Stella £3.15 and Heineken £3.35). Cider have had to put up 20p per pint, now £3.30 for Gold and £2.85 for Blackthorn. Only branded spirits have gone up and nothing more than 5p for 25ml.
City Centre bars straight across the board 20p per pint, and haven't change spirit prices at all.
If its not Captain Darling and Winky killing the pub trade off, its fecking Enterprise Inns / Punch / S&NPE et all! My prices were up 3.5%+ in February then have the extra duty to pay on top as Sunday just gone.
But it's ok, I'll properly shed a tear in October when the minimum wage goes up another 13p an hour. I actually have looked at only employing 18-20 year olds behind the bars and just 21+ in supervisor and manager roles, as if I look at a Friday and Saturday night I've got 15+ staff working at one time over all businesses. Problem is, pay peanuts, get monkeys, and I hate bars staffed by oiks, so the more mature and grown up 20-somethings will stay to keep the quality and I'll take the hit in the profit.
This gubbermint need publicly flogging! Labour, please turn the light off as you leave in a few weeks...

Is that increase in carling? Coors have just put a big increase in price on carling especialy to marstons/banks pubs. Their plan is to make carling a premium beer.
