At the risk of this thread turning into a 1) they are rubbish, buy this from the movie Kill Bill as used by Uma Thurman and 2) you can get them here for only £1.99 thread, Cooks knives are doing an offer on a 7 piece set

http://www.cooks-knives.co.uk/acatalog/Global_7_Pi...

If you are thinking of going that way this would be a good starter I think.

DONT SHOOT THE MESSENGER!

Is that enough disclaimers, and no I don't work for them.

Regards

Andy

Yes, £358 with VAT so £50 more there, the one I linked to was with VAT. Mind you, it does make me wonder if someone can get a link to a set nearer to £250?

Oops forgot that that price was without VAT but that is still £150 cheaper than the £500 the other website wants usually though.

Well the thread title does say "Deal" I wouldn't have posted it otherwise. I knew this would happen, now you have made me feel like some cheap double glazing and snakeoil salesman .. sob sob sob.

I just thought it was a good deal some peeps might be interested in biggrin

does look pretty good, you even get a minosharp sharpener, and they are well worth getting. I got my Global knives a couple of years ago from Costo, they were doing a similar sort of deal

That's a stonking deal. I paid £200 for 5, plus the cost of the sharpener.

However, I really only use two of them - the vegetable chopper and the small parer. Handy to have the set though. The Global bread knife is a quantum leap above any other.

I never thought I'd hear the words 'quantum leap' and 'bread knife' in the same sentence biggrin

costco do a set of 6 in a block for about £160 IIRC. All that in the OP less the bread knife I think.

That is a good deal, you could get loads of Mobil 1 as well, they do a good deal on that also.
