I'd just like to say how much I have enjoyed reading, posting and commenting on this forum in particular in 2009! There have been some great threads and excellent advice and I hope it continues in to 2010.

We are going to the Speakeasy Ball in Leeds tonight to sample some of Anthony Flynn's finest canapes. Pics to follow.

Happy New Year and all the best for 2010.

Happy New Year to you too Tom!

And yes, you're right about this little corner of the forum, it's been a veritable minefield of information!

All we need now is 'Ambiwlans' Blib to put up a pic of his food, and the year'll be complete! wink

It's the eyes that are troubling me. Look at them. I almost cut my own ear off after seeing that, just 'cos.

After cars food is a good passion to have, I've definitely cooked more, tried new things, used up leftovers more and enjoyed reading the forum.

So much so, my one and only New Year's resolution is to cook pizzas from scratch (I'm thinking this is quite a realistic one). I've found a pizza stone, I'm now on the hunt for the perfect ingredients. :P

Is that Anthony Flynn of Anthony's? I'm guessing so - would be interested to hear how you get on. Always found the food to be top notch.

I love it when you talk dirty.

I rolled in 2010 on with 40lbs of pulled pork and brisket. Sadly, I was too drunk to take pictures.

My resolution is to contribute pictorially to dinner threads. Be prepared to be appalled at the excess.

Bring on BBQ postings again. Had my first try at pulled pork in November, and must try again, as it was lovely smile

And Papoo, I have another newby PH'er who is a BBQ aficionado over in Az (and also local to Ca). We cooked a lovely Santa Maria style Tri Tip with him a few months ago while on holiday over in the states…

Indeed it is and what a show he laid on! The food was of a very high quality, plentiful and tasty. Drinks were of the best quality with excellent brands available under the 'all inclusive' banner. Entertainment came in the form of live jazz, female singer, DJ and roulette/poker for the gamblers.

If it is on next year, and I beleive it is, you need to go as I can't think of a better venue.

I spoke to Anthony himself as he was cutting the jowels and cheeks off a roasted pig's head. He offered me some to taste and it was delicious.

I put what remained of my PH dish in the freezer, just the head part, and I'm sure it winked at me. Occassionally, late at night, I hear a scratching sound coming from within .....

Awesome, Santa Maria is something I really enjoy, but don't do myself. Would love one of those pro grills with pulley-adjustable grates. I shall, from here on in, be less lazy when it comes to snaps of dinner. Particularly if it has involved smoke.

On the down side (and speaking of smoke), 2009 marked my last cigarette. It's rubbish.

Let me not distract poor Don from his goodly new way by mentioning his lovely steak and surf Xmas dinner again. Don, there's a picture of it on a thread if you care to go and think about pleasures past.

What's that grumbling stomach sound I can hear?

biggrin
