6 of us went on Sat night. Really, really, really poor. Won't be going back.
You know you're in for a tawdry affair when the chicken satay is made from preformed chicken... That was galling, considering how the restaurant trades on its reputation. Have had far, far better thai meals for far, far less money.

I went a few years back for one of the sunday lunch eat all you can specials. The venue was great, staff friendly and the food was good but no better than anywhere else.
Not worth the price though, I have been to many better regional Thai places. Not been back and wouldn't go again.

It's like a lot of those places, people get suckered in to the look of the place. Sadly it fools them into thinking they've had a great meal and therefore the number of good reviews is far higher than it should be. I always try to imaging eating the same food in some run down cafe.
Anyone remember the show where they took a plate of nicely presented chicken and salad around the streets and got opinions? Most people really liked it. It was KFC on a plate.....

Presentation matters though.
Who said " you take the 1st bite with your eyes" ?
A good meal is about the food but also the presentation, the venue and the service. Although good food can carry the others, bad food can destroy a pretty venue.
Not suprised about the KFC on a plate. Firstly I don't think KFC is that bad and 2nd most people have no idea how chicken is supposed to taste. Too many years of eating 2 for £5 chickens from Cavsda.

Totally agree that presentation matters, however sometimes that's all you get. Le Pont de la Tour for example plays dangerously close to the edge at times, falling back and saying 'Look at the pretty bridge' whilst sticking average food for the money in front of you.Who said " you take the 1st bite with your eyes" ?
