Anyone been to Gilpin Lodge?

The wife and I are off to the lakes tomorrow. We are eating and staying at Linthwaite (Sunday) and then L'Enclume in Cartmel (Monday), but on Tuesday we are staying in Bowness (private house) and I was considering Gilpin Lodge for dinner. Has anyone been recently and if so would you recommend it?

One of my colleagues has dined there - he spoke well of it, but I can't give an indication myself, as I've not visited.

What I can vouch for, however, is the nearby Holbeck Ghyll restaurant. I went a few months ago for lunch, and the food was great. Fantastic view over the lake from the terrace, as well. Might be worth checking out.
