A colleague of mine had just given me a wacking slab of white pudding (cue large sausage jokes if you must...) and I seem to be stuck with what to do with it (again, fill your boots with large sausage jokes if you must...)

I was thinking that as I have a tub of creme fraiche at home of doing a pasta dish?

Browning off some onions, cubing the pudding up and chucking it in with the onions? Pasta, creme fraiche, brocolli and maybe a dab of chilli?

Any better ideas?

White pudding has quite a subtle flavour, so I'd fry it up and eat it 'as is' and use the creme fraiche to make a potato salad to have alongside.

White pudding is v nice grilled.

Alternatively I had a chicken breast stuffed with white pudding and wrapped in bacon for lunch.

(PS don't know if your white pudding is the same as what I'm thinking of, as mine would go to pieces in a pasta dish)

YUK, you must be English. Cut into slices and fry in pan, serve with Chips and curry sauce or beans. Or serve in a roll or bap or whatever you funny English people call it.

Is white pudding like black pudding?

A big scap sausage.

If there isn't much or any blood in it I might have to try it

No blood in it at all, otherwise I wouldn't have taken it.
Ruddy lovely it was too. I just cubed it, fried it and did with it as above. A few chilli flakes added some kick.

I haven't had white pudding since I was in Ireland. It's bloody lovely but I have never seen it for sale in England.

Holy Thread Resurrection Batman!

I've been gifted a whole Clonakilty white pudding, and whilst cooking it up in a calorific fry appeals, I was wondering if there were any suggestions on doing something a bit different with it?

If you're doing a roast chicken dinner, it makes a great alternative to stuffing. Lovely with a bit of gravy smile
