So what is your choice biscuit? Whether it be at work, whilst watching a film or just something to dunk into your tea? smile

I've just sampled a packet Fox's Chunkie 'extremely chocolatey' cookies and I must admit they fit the bill perfectly and are rather moreish. A biscuit that seems to have fused two national favourites together; the milk chocolate Digestive (without the needless digestive bit!) and the common chocolate chip cookie - The brilliance is the fact that when combined the overall deliciously tasty biscuit is approximately 1cm thick! 'Tis perfect for dunking in warm beverages and as a fill-in until lunch/dinner ...

The only downside I can see is only 8 biscuits come in a pack and these can vanish pretty quick, especially in an office environment frown

I have a particular favourite, but I'm not telling because I get the piss taken out of me.
V8 Mate will be along in a bit to reveal my secret....

I favour the Tunnocks Caramel Wafer myself. Lovely taste, ample in size, nice texture, not to cumbersome to chocolatey/caramelly/wafery but a perfect combination of all three. And, the paper wrapper keeps crumb-droppage to a minimum. Damn, that is a tasty biscuit.

Next in line would be the jaffa cake. But is it a biscuit or a cake? Perhaps that's one for another day!

Its still a cake. always was a cake, and will inevitably always remain, a cake.

what is a florentine classed as? the tesco finest ones are great.

i like chunky, crunchy choc & nut cookies or all butter shortbread to dunk. those caramelised ones you get on the side of your coffee in a cafe are also good, as are galettes.

i'm finding green & blacks apricot & sultana cookies to be my favourite at the min, as they're nice and moist with a layer of g&b dark chocolate on the bottom lick

Mmmmmm!! Agree with you there.

Also does anyone remember Abbey Crunch? Those were the best by a long way. Though sometimes you can't beat the good old custard cream.

I agree totally. I was trying to avoid starting the whole jaffa cake/biscuit debate on what is already a rather agreeable Thursday afternoon thread!!

In work we used to have 'The Biscuit Diary'

This was a book we made with a review of every biscuit we had tried.

This was the layout

Brand: (fox, McVities etc)
Biscuit: (Digestive, HobNob ect)
Price: (a bit obvious really)
Where from: (again, this doesnt need explaining)
Flavour: (out of 10)
Drink its being dunked intofrownmilk, tea, coffee etc)
Pre-dunk Crunch: (out of 10)
Dunkability: (number of dunks before the biscuit broke appart(each dunk was 1 seconds [dunk] 1, 1000 [/dunk]))
Optimum Number of dunksfrownnumber of dunks where the biscuit is as close to fully saturated as possible whilst still strong enough to suppost itself when held horizontal for 5 seconds)
Post-dunk crunch (after 1 dunk): (out of 10)
Post-dunk crunch (after 3 dunks): (out of 10)
Review: (just a little explaination of what you thought of the biscuit including good and bad points)

I reckon we should start a PH Biscuit Diary

Awesome biscuit themed site.

http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com/

Their top level strategic mission statement:

"Well I think we should all sit down and have a nice cup of tea, and some biscuits, nice ones mind you. Oh and some cake would be nice as well. Lovely."

Biscuits go soft when old
Cakes go hard when old

Therefore Jaffa Cake is a cake
