The recommend a beer thread

What beer/ale/lager/tipple tickles your fancy that you think the PH population should try?

For me I'm rather enjoying Golden Glory from the Badger brewery, a really nice ale with lovely fruity taste and a great scent of melon and peach..

Try it, I think you might like it..

And over to you, what would you recommend?

I grew up next to the Fullers' brewery in Chiswick, and all of their beers are top notch.

a REAL ale choice from me, Kelham Island Easy Rider (4.3%ABV) probably my fave at the minute, a light golden brew with a hoppy nose/flavour and a pleasant biscuity malt finish, a brew definetley crafted for those who value tastes over heavy/fullbodiedness definetely IMO

Adnams Broadside, Potbelly Pigs Do Fly, Black Sheep Bitter & Oakham JHB get the from me too

Don't mind a bit of London Pride, but ESB is one of my all-time favourites.

Digfield March Hare currently on form locally, and their Fools Nook is worth a glug too

Agree on the Oakham JHB shout

Maybe an unpopular one with the beer crew but Sunchaser proves Everards can brew a decent beer despite conventional wisdom

Can't overlook Hop Back's Summer Lightning either...

Had a bottle of summer lightning the other night, very pleasant..

Just tucking into a chimmay, nice refreshing change to the lagers I've been drinking recently..

Current favourite is Oatmeal Stout from the Spinning Dog brewery. A very robust and authentic stout.

The local was serving Highgate Mild on the weekend. Not as dark and delicious as the old brew, but still exceptionally good.

Currently on a bit of a wheat beer drive and enjoying Grolsch Weizen and Kronenbourg Blanc. On the lager front, bought a couple of bottle of Tyskie over the weekend and found it to be most agreeable.

My regular business hotel down in Brissle now has Harviestoun Bitter and Twisted on tap replacing the drinkable but unexciting Deuchars IPA. Would prefer a 6X or anything from Otter Brewery being in that neck of the woods though.

there is a small brewery called Fallen Angel who produce quite a few nice beers, but one is called Fire in the Hole Chili Beer, it is quite nice, good bit of heat to it.

BSA from the Hogs Back Brewery is a lovely drop, as is Black Prince from the St Austell Brewery, while HSB is my favourite Fullers brew

another nearby real beer drinker with very good taste it would appear!

i did a "Meet The Brewer" night with a chap from Everards just before Xmas and Sunchaser was one of the best brews there, their Original well and truly did it for me though!

tried some of that for the first time just recently, not bad, but i found it a little bit thin for my taste TBH...
keeping along the same lines, Batemans DM can be a lovely example of the Dark Mild style IMO, get a drop in good nick and despite its meak 3% ABV its a brew full of flavour!

There are some good beers recomended here, but i have to add that recently i have been to the cropton brewery in north yorkshire, and they do some nice ales. Also kelham island,st austell,theakston and black sheep are also nice, whilst teleys original(£1.82 for 4 cans in asda) does just as well!
