Anyone noticed there seems to be a shortage of sloes this year - in fact I have not found any round here. It looks as though there will be no sloe gin then cry

But there is nothing on the bushes at all and others have found the same. Maybe a bad year or frost killed the blossom as there seemed plenty of flower at one point.

I've not had a look for myself yet, but I've heard the same from others too.

Not just me then! I keep thinking it must be because it's still too early, but I am sure I noticed them in September last year as I was desperate to pick and had to wait until late October due to lack of frosts.

Have still got some sloe gin and sloe bacardi (it was one way to use up a 1.5litre bottle as we don't really drink the stuff) and am eeking it out just in case none is available this year.

Yeah, same here. Nothing on the Sloes, but the Blackberries are amazing just a few yards up the hedge. Bramble whiskey it is then !

Been an odd year though, never seen so many Dragonflies. Those things are HUGE smile And butterflies in much greater numbers than I have seen for years.
