Chain off Fillet Steak, what is it exactly?
Discussion
Hi, went to Makro the other day and bought a big piece (looked like a whole piece, about 14-15 inch long, forgot the weight! Doh) of Chain off Fillet beef steak.
Cost £20 and cut it up into 6 really nice big chunks (probably around £5-6 for each chunk at the supermarket)
Pan fried it as usual with some pepper and sea salt and it tasted like fillet steak and was very lean/tender.
Just wondered by what is ment by "Chain off" Is it inferior cuts hence the cheapness or was what i bought good value?
I'm not a proper steak conneseur but it tasted nice enough to me?
