Got a couple of close mates coming round tonight for an evening of debauchery and I drunkenly volunteered to cook a proper meal for them. Given last weeks escapades with the roasted hand, I reckon it'll be another boozy one so to that end, I'm looking for a main course than can either be prepared a couple of hours in advance and chucked in the oven (a decent one pot meal would do the trick) or something that can be brought together relatively quickly (and safely).

For the starter i'm thinking steak tartare but i'm stumped for the main.

Answers on a postcard please.

What about the ¨sort of chicken basque¨ from Delia Cheats.

Its quick easy and very tasty. And one pot.

I ended up making a crayfish tail 'cocktail' with griddled tiger prawns to start and a spicy pasta bake.

It did the job.wink
