Bought some Wild Boar - from a F1 driver!

This last Saturday the wife suggested, as we headed home from a round of golf, that we try a local Farm Shop we hadn't been to before. Bought some Wild Boar which was supremely delicious. Bought some beer, too, which was also fab.

Reading the back of the beer label I note that it is Laverstoke Park Farm...and owned and managed by one Jody Scheckter of F1 fame.

I'd known he had an estate locally but hadn't associated it with a farm shop.

Very good shop. If you are in North Hants it's woth a visit.

A friend of mine did a load of work for him planting trees on his estate and said he took on some of his produce as a thankyou.

What cuts of Boar did they have? How much? I love wild boar, but usually only find it over on the continent. I have to go out to Wiltshire later in the week for work, so may be able to swing by if I have time - else it is a good excuse to take the bike out of a blast that way

Well - it wasn't cheap. I paid around a bit less than £20 for a half leg. I reckon enough for five people to eat (generously). And it was really good. I can also recommend their beer. Stunningly good.
