Article todays Times, the £2.99 bottle of wine to go. Gordon and his finger puppet have decided its time we pay much more for our tipple. I would swear they think things up to encourage us to move to France! rolleyes

Is cheap lager tax going up too?

Ah, I forgot, it's the middle classes who drink too much, isn't it. After all its only the middle classes you find in the town centre pissing up against shop windows and bludgeoning one another to death on Saturday nights after ten pints of green-death. They must go there right after dinner over that soon-to-be very expensive bottle of average plonk from Tesco.

s. Is there no end to their spite?

Its a shame we don't riot. It really is. Instead we'll all moan about it on the internet and worry how we'll afford to send the kids to a school where they aren't beaten up of a lunchtime and might actually come away with qualifications employers recognise...

Er, this one?

A drinkable bottle of wine for £2.99 will soon be a thing of the past, say experts in the agricultural industry mag The Grocer, due to poor harvests and the rising costs of oil, glass, cork, packaging and transportation. Even something for a fiver will be difficult to come by.
