HR Higgins (Coffee Man) - despite the name does good tea.

Or Twinings on the Strand (and your local supermarket).

yes Much better than Harrods, they started out as tea merchant 300 years ago so should know their stuff.

Royal Blend is excellent lick

It depends on what works with your local water (and, of course, your own tastes in tea). Waitrose own brand Kenya makes a lovely cuppa here, but I live in a hard water area so ymmv.

Always use filtered water as it does taste better. Also served in a thin bone china cup/mug seems to make it taste better - no idea why.

Colleague recommends this site for tea;

Ali the the shop in my post above does a tea cup set with a strainer and a little glass lid to keep everything warm whilst the tea is brewing for around 16 squid. The cup holds a generous portion of tea and stops you wasting leaves as you only use enough for one.

Chuffin eck biggrin

I still use loose tea and get it down the shops or supermarket. Didn't realise it was mystical stuff. You could cut open tea bags? Gunpowder tea is fun.

thumbup Cheers Stacey, but Dad drinks it by the potfull (the one he has just broken held 8!), so that would be a bit small biggrin

He is a fussy bugger about his tea pots, and if it doesn't pour properly, it goes to Oxfam hehe

You would think that by the early 21st century we could manage to make a (particularly cheap, rugged, ideal for use in service areas etc) style of teapot that doesn't put more tea on the table than in the cup or burn your hands whilst pouring. It can't be that hard surely ?

We've always used loose leaf in our house - don't know why.

Waitrose sell Clipper loose leaf green tea which is quite nice. I've bought some Whittards Earl Grey loose leaf as well, which is alright.
