really good question that. I don't mind marmalade on toast but detest it on bread

with butter and a nice steaming cup of earl grey (and yes I have been known to dunk my toast in my tea on rare occassions)

Mrs OB is into Marmalade on Toast and Earl Grey, but I've never seen her eat Marmalade on bread. Do you think I should go and wake her to ask? Breathing finest Napa Valley Chardonnay breath on her in the process?

No, I think I'd rather not sleep in the shed tonight...

A good tip for marmalade is when you are making a lasagna smear a fine amount around the dish before adding everything to it!

Depends what sort of marmalade you are talking about. If we are considering the traditional seville orange, bitter type of marmelade, I reckon it goes well with toast of plain bread, but toast helps bring out the fruitiness of the marmalade. But what sort of toast, plain white, wholemeal or multigrain?

Opinions please.

As much as I would like to think my teenage years weren't that long ago, I think we're talking 16 years ago here wink

and as for dunking toast on tea..........well, all I can say is I had some strange eating habits when I was young, and nothing gets dunked in tea anymore.......not even biscuits.

Try adding scotch to marmalade. Buy cheap marmalade, re-boil in saucepan adding large glass of scotch, re-bottle. Add too much and you wont care if it's on bread or toast.
