Anyone got any good ideas or recipes?

I'm thinking chocolate fudge and rumballs/truffles.

Think it would be nice to give gifts that can be got rid of rather than stored this year.

Mrs Pod here.

Probably a bit late for you, but all of our neighbours are getting a small basket with a couple of pretty bottles of home made sloe gin/vodka/limoncello/christmas pudding vodka, plus a half a dozen cardamom or cinnamon biscuits (google either) cut in to shapes with ribbons to hang them from the christmas tree (cookie cutters on offer in tesco for £2)

Nigella's Chocolate Pistachio Fudge Just Condensed Milk, Dark Chocolate and Pistachios, also good with Peanut Butter. Also her Spiced Peaches (I had these tonight).

I too have made some Sloe Gin and Vodka. Also Butterscotch Vodka, and eldest wants me to make the Skittles Vodka for a friend of his.

It's not too late to do limoncello or Christmas Pudding Vodka. Give them a week to a fortnight and they'll be fine. I'll put recipes up tonight.

Edited to say I found getting hold of pretty bottles more difficult. And it doesn't work out a particularly cheap pressie either.

Me too.

Where did you get your bottles from?

I've managed to get some minature wine bottles with screw tops, easily removeable labels and no writing on the bottle top. Of course i've had to consume the wine within first which was a task...

LGF - Skittles Vodka, et al recipes are in the Sloe Gin threads. Take the green skittles out first or Vodka will turn brown. Butterscotch one was nice. Also used this in my Coffee too.

Lakeland £2.99 each.

I think I might follow your lead though and look at the wine and cordial bottles in Tesco when I go in. I've still got about 5 litres to deal with.
