........not Burger King or MacDonalds, but has anyone had a genuinely good quality burger recently?

Went to Hache in London in a few months back and that was pretty good although I think the best example I've encountered remains that from The King's Head in Great Burstead smile

The Ramsay pub on Narrow Street in London is great for burgers.

At least once a week, with the joy of new cooking.

I am really dissapointed everytime i go to Hache or GBK.

the meat just isnt that great. and is probably frozen.

nothing beats homemade.

First couple of times at GBK I really enjoyed it, then it seemed to change last time I went to the one in Tunny wells. Dunno, sort of seemed like it all came from Brakes Foodservice for school kitchens hehe

A local pub to me, The White Hart @ Ufford, do a truely superb burger. Simply massive and topped to perfection.

For a big chain Prezzo do a mighty fine burger as well...

Had one of those recently. It was ok, but I think as far as chain restaurants go the Cafe Uno one is better (just incredibly messy when the bread disintegrates).

GBK used to be great, but not sure they have survived the expansion.

Mosburger in Tokyo is the best burger I have had from chains. But like others, homemade is unbeatable.

We haven't got a Cafe Uno round here sadly, I'd like to try one though.

I'm veggie so burger choice is a little restricted, however I do love the burgers at Red Veg on Dean Street in Soho. I believe they have a branch down in Brighton as well.

I absolutely love their burger topped with mushrooms and swiss cheese with babycorn firesticks on the side. I'd reccomend trying it as all my non-veg mates have really enjoyed it as well.

Unfortunately recently the prices have gone up and the quality a little down, as is the case for a lot of places it seems. Still well worth a try.

MOH's sister is a veggie also, made spicy bean burgers from Ainsley Harriet's book for her and they were so good I had to make more for everyone else!

Predominantly spinach and cannelini beans I think, but very scrummy.

We make our own beefburgers - good mince + plenty of black pepper, salt, chillis and put a knob of camembert in the middle :P

Pork burgers - pork mince, lemongrass, pepper. Done :P
