London Burlesque/ Cabaret Show with Meal
Discussion
We went to Park Chinois. It was expensive and not necessarily value for money, but the food was pretty good.
The Burlesque show was "interesting". It's not really our thing and it was a tiny bit odd, but somehow quite enjoyable at the same time. I wouldn't rush back, but I'm glad I went.
Not sure if that counts as a recommendation.

Burlesque shows are fun. I don't know any that are permanent and with decent food. The Hippodrome at Leicester Square sometimes has burlesque.
Dita von Teese highly recommended at the London Palladium 8th and 9th March 2025. Book yourselves an early dinner somewhere else before the show. Top quality night out.

You can't just leave it at that!!There was a guy doing acrobatics on bits of furniture wearing the tiniest pair of skin tight leather (look) trunks and nothing else. Twirling around, upside down, sideways, right way up about 2 ft from my Wife's face.
Another guy doing fire eating wearing very little and what he was wearing was very tight and very revealing.
Some other stuff I don't remember clearly, but was definitely a bit strange
Then it ended with a fairly sturdy lass doing what was in reality a striptease. She kept her knickers on, but removed about 3 different bras ending in a pair of nipple tassles. Not what either of us were expecting.

Jump on the Eurostar to Paris.
Go to the Moulin Rouge
Grab a cheap hotel for the night
Come back the next day.
To be fair this is probably the right answer. Went probably 8 years ago and had a meal (average) next to the stage ... Have to say the show certainly took your mind off the quality of the food ! Was actually really good overall but would not bother again.Go to the Moulin Rouge
Grab a cheap hotel for the night
Come back the next day.
London - Cafe de Paris was pretty good but closed and was replaced by Lio London (just off Leicester Square) - no idea if its any good though
We went to House of Burlesque at Sway bar in Holborn last night. Really good fun, fairly small venue so everyone got a good view, drinks were reasonably priced. Seats were set up around a central dance floor rather than it being a theatre set up. Laughed a lot, the compare was fantastic, she had everyone singing along and was getting the audience involved.
Ordered a bottle of Prosecco for the table which saved too much queuing at the bar. Loads of places to eat around Holborn and Covent Garden.
Really wasn’t sure what to expect as it was the first time we’d been to something like that but would defo go again.
