I think I know the answer here, just thought I'd check.

Making a beef curry, fired in the lime juice, salt, garam masala and mixed well, next gave a fresh pot of Sainsbury's own brand Greek Yoghurt a shake, opened it and poured it straight in, it poured alright...like milk...

About half already splashed in before I stopped pouring. Container wasn't bulging, no damage to pot or seal, expiry date of 12th Jan, no smell or any lumps or anything untoward, I vigorously stirred the remainder, it did not thicken.

Anyone experienced this, and lived to tell the tale?

I take it, assuming this hasn't spoiled after the fact, that this is a faulty batch? Which means it likely isn't pasteurised, having not been to the correct temp to make yoghurt?

A lot of so called greek yoghurts aren't particularly thick. Not much thicker than regular natural yogurt. Misses buys a strained sheep/goats greek yogurt. You could almost slice it.

Yeah, Greek style.

I had a tub a couple of weeks ago, it was normal; quite thick, slow to pour.

None of the reviews mention it being like milk, although the consistency appears to be variable.

That particular one is my usual purchase and is always extra thick & creamy (coats the spoon), never seen one as thin as you describe.
