Guinness shortage?

Landlords across the country say that their distributors have been allocating them less Guinness than usual, to make sure there's enough stock to meet demand over Christmas.
"Over the past month we have seen exceptional consumer demand for Guinness in GB," a Diageo spokesperson said. "We have maximised supply and we are working proactively with our customers to manage the distribution to trade as efficiently as possible."
There are rumours that some pubs ran out of Guinness on Friday night. "Over the past month we have seen exceptional consumer demand for Guinness in GB," a Diageo spokesperson said. "We have maximised supply and we are working proactively with our customers to manage the distribution to trade as efficiently as possible."
If true, this is a sad state of affairs, and a clear indication that we need to establish a Strategic Guinness Reserve ASAP.
I may launch a petition.
I've been told it's due to Tiktok 'Gonster' going viral, doesn't make sense to me tbh but stranger things have happened.
The export is pretty nice though it's super strong so have to be careful, two bottles is pretty much the limit.
No domestic Guinness in Sainsbury's on the shelves this afternoon but they did still have the export grade tucked away down the ethnic foods aisle.
I wonder if this will become a bit like the run on bog roll, I'm sure pubs will be putting up the price to cater for the increased demand.

There seems to be a revivial of the "Split the G" game which might have something to do with it.
Overly successful marketing with a big lead time to scale supply…A well poured pint served at the right temperature is a pretty decent drink I reckon.
If they don't have enough they should reduce supply to the "cold taps"!

Maybe pubs could get an alternative stout on tap and promote that. It will almost certainly taste better.
Yup. Here's my recommendation, the tastiest stout I've ever drunk in my life, makes Guinness taste and feel like ditch water:https://noblegreenwines.co.uk/products/indie-rabbl...
No chance of finding it anywhere on draught sadly.

"In Stock - 4 Available" Cases surely? No business would stock just four cans of the stuff?https://noblegreenwines.co.uk/products/indie-rabbl...

Honest Places (YouTuber) certainly likes his pints.
Guinness Original Extra Stout for me though.
Also enjoy a bottle (or two) of Guinness West Indies Porter. Guinness Foreign Extra Stout mostly for the summer months.
To be fair I don't mind bottled Guiness including the porter and export. In bottles it always used to be a 'live' beer, not sure if that remains the case?Guinness Original Extra Stout for me though.
