So the year has flown by and the forms for Christmas meats have already come round. What are you all having? This year I'll try not to mix up my pounds and kilos, I was still eating Turkey and Beef at Easter.

Last year I had Turkey, beef and pork. I want to try something a bit different this year.

Although Christmas dinner will be probably on the 27th as the Mrs is on shift from the 24th until the 26th again!

It will be a rolled and boned Turkey crown most likely. We will need to get round to speaking to the butcher soon to get it and the trimmings ordered.

It's usually venison from the Chatsworth farm shop for us, the only time in the year we shop there but it's worth it.

I do something very similar to this.

Smoky bacon on the outside lined with pheasant that's been flattened with a steak hammer then a layer of sausage meat, roll it like above. It truly is amazing

Done venison the last few years, bought from either a local farm shop, the butcher or the estate itself in one case.
