I’ve had a set of circulon non stick pans that are at end of life as they been used and abused for a good few years now. Ones warped, ones losing its Teflon coating etc etc…

I’m a very keen cook and these have served me well for many years. I don’t know whether or not to spend a similar on a new set or try something different. Hence the thread.

I’ve got lots of different woks, stock pots and frying/saute pans so I’m looking for suggestions for a set of 4 saucepans from milk sized to 20cm ish….i don’t know what the cookery equivalent is but I don’t treat my everyday pans with any “mechanical sympathy “ these will be slung in a dishwasher post cooking every time they are used and the utensils will be metal, silicon and wood!

So in summary I want pans that can take a lot of stick. No pun intended. I’ve got loads of kit that needs oiling and seasoning but these will not be treated as well as I don’t have the time every day.

So I’m either thinking cheap and expect to replace after maybe 2 years or splash out on something with guarantees of longevity with the usage described.

Any suggestions?

Other brands are available.

Yes the Le Creuset 3-ply are excellent, our set is 20 years old and barely marked. I also have some Procook Elite 3-ply which are also excellent.

£300 currently on amazon.

They are regularly on sale.

Think Samuel groves is popular on here too.

My Le Creuset were from one of their outlets so a bit cheaper but as I said, have lasted 20 years and counting.

We use professional Vogue pans from Nisbets. The previous set of professional pans were 24 years old and only got replaced when we moved to an induction hob. Given away as still in mint condition.

My mother bought me a set of Stellar pans when I bought my house 15+ years ago and they're still in great condition except for the one lid that my wife put down on top of a gas ring that was still on and left until it started to smell. Other than some discoloration and the seal between the lid and handle melting it survived remarkably well.

My le creuset ceramic & cast iron casseroles are probably 30 years old now and have a few scratches but still in generally good condition too.

I've never had non-stick stuff last that well, although our current Run cookware wok is still looking good after 5 or 6 years and we bought a le crueset non stick frying pan last year which I have high hopes for.

Brilliant contributions thanks.

I’ve access to a le creuset outlet so that’s a good option

We got a set of 4 Stellar pans as a wedding present. Still have them 24 years later and they still look in good condition. They travelled with us when we moved to Bermuda and moved back to the UK with us 14 years later.
Like these (but obviously not quite as shiny now ! biggrin )

Love our SG - we have the pan set linked above, plus frying pans and a saute pan - but definitely listen when they say don't splash with cold water! A couple of ours have bowed. Need to hammer them back.

Yes, I've got a couple of their stainless steel pans (and also a Le Crueset one), and prefer the Samuel Groves ones. The Chefs pan is a particular favourite.

Stainless steel will last forever and can be easily cleaned - I use some white vinegar if the pan is stained.
Trickier when cooking fish or eggs, but I guess those things were cooked successfully before non-stick was invented wink

I also have a Ninja Zero-stick frying pan which I use if I do need non-stick, and it's been amazing. They're super cheap but incredibly well made. Mine is about 18 months old, and genuinely look as good as new. FAR better than my Le Cresuet non stick was.

I love Le Creuset but not everyone does. They're too heavy for some people. So if you're limp of wrist maybe something to consider.
The stainless pans are the same weight as other brands, you’re right that the cast iron stuff is on the insanely heavy side!

We've had all types and prices over the years and have to say the best to date are Ninja Zero stick............

And for the price you can't go wrong. No need ro put them in the dishwasher as all they need is water and a sponge. But do yourself a favour AMG and take it easy with the steel tools wink

These are excellent. I recall seeing an old thread and a group buy discount whereby a lot of PHers made a purchase. Not sure the offer is still going however as was some time ago.

Stop using metal on non stick and definitely do not use metal if you go down the Le Creuset route.

Hang on, don't they have a Lifetime Guarantee

Yep. we got a load with a hefty discount a when that thread was active. The non stick frying pan didn't last, but the stainless saucepans are excellent and look like new.

I know steel on non-stick is t the best perhaps given the options suggested spending a bit of the budget on some new utensils would be shrewd.
